It requires you to detach the needle. This is made by switching the stop motion wheel one-half turn. To restore the needle just turn the wheel back to its original position.
Right of the race hook, you will notice a lever that manipulates the drop feed. This is a convenient place, much more so than on the back of the free arm which can be hard to reach.
Also, while most sewing units are threaded from the right to the left, this model is the opposite. If you’re a professional, you will find this process reminiscent of using an old sewing machine.
Although the threading process isn’t that similar to the ones in modern sewing machines, it’s still easy to master. You will adjust to threading the needle and winding the bobbin quickly.
If you’re working with the worktable in place, it can be hard getting to the front-loading bobbin. You will have to take off the table and open the door to reach the drop feed control.
